Forest floor, Tow Hill, Haida Gwaii, BC
On a clear day it’s possible to see the Alaska panhandle from the top of Tow Hill on the very north end of Haida Gwaii. On the short walk up this “hill” I spotted these beautiful orange fungus (Aleuria aurantia). They looked more like a flower than a mushroom. I had to clear a little bit of leaves and twigs to get an unobstructed view, but not too much so it would still look natural.
